Medication:
Medication will not be administered without prior written permission from the Parent. Please provide the medication in its original packaging, with a written note indicating the child’s name, medication required, time & dosage. I DO NOT supply medication of any sort to any child.
Illness:
Your child is too sick to attend the day home when he/she has a severe cold with a runny nose, a fever, a contagious disease (Bacterial Meningitis, Chicken Pox, Diarrheal diseases such as; Shigella, Campylobacter, Salmonella, Giardia, Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Measles, Mumps, Pertussis “whopping cough,” Pneumonia or Rubella, Cold & Flu, Strep Throat, Head Lice, Impetigo, Rabies, or Scabies), vomiting, diarrhea, or an eye infection such as “Pink eye.”
Your child may return to the day home when you have consulted your physician and they have deemed the child fit to return to care. The child must have not had a fever or been vomiting within the last 24 hours and is resting and eating normally. Minor signs of a cold with sniffles and some coughing are acceptable. If a child is slightly irritable, with mild to moderate signs and symptoms of teething, the child may attend the day home.
This policy is set in place to contain any bugs that may go around and limit the exposure to any children that are healthy. A phone call will be placed to the parents to inform them if a child becomes ill at the day home and it is the parents responsibility to have their child picked up promptly immediately following the call.
